Elliot Earls Studio: A Design built competition

With the budget of $40,000 the artist studio was built within the confines of Cranbrook's department of architecture building.  The studio is a compact structure with a main work space, a fully functioning bathroom, a lofted bed, reading nook, and an elevated patio.  The design was driven by reactions to Elliott's love of A frames and log cabins combined with intuitive responses to the constrains of space, time and money.
